MATTOON – A presentation on the plant life at Warbler Ridge Conservation Area is set for
9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Mattoon Public Library.
The talk by volunteer Nancy Coutant is to cover the variety and importance of life at the
more than 1,300 acres south of Charleston. It’s to highlight the unique and beautiful flora
that makes the area special and a place to be preserved.
Warber Ridge, maintained by the Grand Prairie Friends, consists of woodlands, prairies,
wetlands and river shoreline with a broad array of nature, plants and wildlife. The area
includes forest and deep ravines. It has more than 10 miles of trails.
