Free Internet Access and Technology for Everyone
The Mattoon Public Library provides free WiFi, public computers, and essential software to support your work, research, communication, and learning needs.
Free WiFi
Network Name: MPLPAW_Network
No password is required.
WiFi is available throughout the building, including study areas, meeting rooms, and public seating. Simply connect, open your browser, and you’re online.
Public Computers
Public computers are available on the main floor and can be checked out for up to two hours at a time.
Features & Capabilities
All public computers include:
- Internet access
- USB ports
- Microsoft Office 2010 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher)
- Adobe Acrobat Reader
Laptops (except netbooks) include:
- CD-RW drives
We recommend bringing your own storage device. All files are erased after each session to protect patron privacy.
Requirements for Computer Use
To use an Internet computer, patrons must:
- Agree to the Library’s Internet and Computer Use Policy
- Have a Mattoon Public Library card or a credit card on file for identification
