  • The Big Dig

    The book chronicles the epic Illinois Central Railroad project to lower their tracks through Mattoon, Illinois. It covers the events leading up to the project, the Big Dig itself and the many attendant projects that followed. It was a time that saw the intersection of men with picks and shovels and giant steam shovels.
