About The Teen Space

The Teen Space, located within the Children's Department on the second floor of the library, is a vibrant and dynamic area designed specifically for teens and young adults. This space offers a diverse collection of materials, comfortable study areas, and the latest reads, making it an ideal spot for young people to gather, collaborate, and unwind. Whether you're looking to dive into a good book, tackle homework, or simply hang out with friends, the Teen Space has something for everyone. In addition to a wide selection of books, including the latest Caldecott and Caudill Books, youth graphic novels, and other new releases, the Teen Space also offers a range of engaging activities and educational resources.

Programs and Offerings

Young people ages 13-19 are welcome to this recently renovated space which includes:  
  • Fast and reliable WiFi
  • Seasonal reading challenges, including Summer Reading
  • Chess Club (grades 2-12)
  • Homework Help and other Family Literacy activities
  • Video gaming (Switch Online with pre-downloaded games)
  • New and classic board games and puzzles
  • Study space with dry erase tables
  • Local resources from Lake Land College and community organizations
  • Comfortable chairs and couches
  Parents, please take note that a child must be 12 years of age or older to use the library unattended. Materials located in the Teen Space are intended for teens and young adult readers. For more information, please consult the Unattended Children Policy.
